What is Fructooligosaccharides?
Fructooligosaccharides (FOS) are naturally occurring short-chain carbohydrates, a type of prebiotic, composed of 2 to 4 fructose units, beginning with a glucose unit. They are widely found in plants such as onions, garlic, bananas, and asparagus, and can also be extracted industrially from chicory roots or synthesized enzymatically.
