What is Bifidobacterium Lactobacillus?
Bifidobacterium is an anaerobic Gram-positive bacillus isolated from the feces of breast-fed infants. The end is often bifurcated, hence the name Bifidobacterium. There are 32 subtypes of Bifidobacterium, and there are as many as 70 biological preparations containing Bifidobacterium. Bifidobacterium is a bacillus with very inconsistent morphology, 0.5-1.3 μm×1.5-8 μm, often curved, rod-shaped and branched. Solitary, paired, V-shaped, sometimes in chains, cells parallel to the fence, or rosette-shaped. Occasionally in the shape of an enlarged club.
