What is Sodium hyaluronate?
Sodium hyaluronate is a high-molecular-weight polysaccharide, composed of D-glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine linked by alternating β-1,3 and β-1,4 glycosidic bonds to form a linear chain structure. The hydrophilic groups on its molecular chain, such as hydroxyl and carboxyl groups, can absorb hundreds of times their own weight in water, forming a transparent gel-like substance that imparts excellent water-retention properties.
