What is Valerian extract?
Valerian extract is a substance extracted from the root of valerian (Valeriana officinalis L.), a plant of the genus Valerian in the family Valerianaceae. Valerian is a perennial, cold-resistant, flowering herb that can reach 120 cm in height. The rhizome is short and thick and head-shaped, the stem is hollow, the stem leaves are ovate to broadly ovate, the corymb panicle is terminal, the corolla is lavender or white, the filaments are flat, and the flowering and fruiting period is July-September
