What is Senna?

Senna is a dry leaflet of the leguminous plant Cassia angustifolia Vahl. or Cassia acutifolia Lelile. It is native to the offshore and islands of the tropics of East Africa, southern Arabia, northwestern India, the south, and northwestern Pakistan. It is cultivated in India and Pakistan. There are also a small number of introductions and cultivations in Yunnan and Guangxi.
